Meet Amy Koeshall, Purchasing Administrator.
How long have you been employed at Stronghold Data?
About 25 years. It’s been so long we can’t quite remember my start date anymore!
Why did you join Stronghold Data?
When I started working here, we were actually a completely different company. We have morphed through the years a time or two changing the business to meet the needs of our clients. I was working in retail and to take care of my family I needed something a little more stable. It has been a good fit for me as everyone has always been very supportive. Through the years I’ve worked in several different capacities in the business based on need. I think purchasing is by far my favorite position to date.
What is the most interesting or favorite part of your job?
I love the fact that technology is constantly changing. This job is never boring. I love the challenge that those changes bring every day. I also really enjoy getting to know the people that I communicate with every day from the Vendors to the Clients. I know it sounds odd, but I really am excited every day to get to come to work and see what challenges the day brings me. Yes, you usually will see me here early every day.
What are some cool projects you’ve seen our clients do with Stronghold Data’s services/products or your favorite story involving Stronghold helping a client.
It’s really hard for me to pinpoint something like this. I’ve seen so many companies benefit from the efforts that we have put forward through the years. I have seen some of the engineers go a couple days without sleep or have nothing more than a quick catnap on the floor during a network deployment or while resolving an issue for a client. Sometimes I’ve seen them pull off what seemed the impossible. You don’t see that kind of commitment everywhere.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I love it when I can get something done that we were told couldn’t happen. Maybe it’s a parts shortage and I’m able to find them or I manage to get items shipped early that have long timelines, or maybe it’s an item that needs replaced or repaired that has been difficult to get done and I was able to make it happen. As I said… I love a challenge and I really enjoy feeling like I’ve accomplished something. I always want to give my best and I like it when I feel like I have accomplished that.
When you think of Stronghold Data’s culture, what three words come to mind?
When I think of our culture, there are actually four words that come to mind: Family, Trustworthy, Commitment (to each other and clients), and Strength (of Character).
What are your hobbies outside of Stronghold Data?
Well, I do quite a few things. I teach a couple classes at my church. (New Christian and Finding your Purpose Workshop), as well as serve on the Praise team. I also serve as the leader of the Prayer Partner program for Higher Power Garage. Beyond that any additional spare time is reading, cooking, or trying my hand at anything creative just for fun.
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.
I LOVE History. I read history; I watch historical shows, I will visit any historical museum of any town I visit. I even serve on the Historical Society Board for Joplin. I don’t just like history… I love it. I want to know why people made the decisions they made and how it affected their lives. It’s fascinating to me. I think we can learn so much from history. History is my way to unwind.
